Recap of the '06 season: We were able to make the last two race weekends of the '06 season. The September meet was a great learning experience. We qualified for our licencing on Saturday. Then on Sunday we broke the long standing record in our M/G1650 class, and with the next run we bumped the record to 180.000mph. We were very satisfied with our rookie runs and looked forward to the October meet to do a little better.
For the Oct. meet we changed a few things: Different clipons Veypor II digital tech and speedo... Exhaust And remembered to bring our leathers (special thanks to Lee Shierts for letting me use his leathers at the Sept. meet. He later told me those were the leathers that he wore when he went 260mph). COOL
Our goal for the Oct. meet was 185mph and thought with the changes we made, it was possible. On Saturday we continued to bump up the M/G1650 record but only could get a few passes in because of the strong cross winds that would cause the officials to shut down the track for long periods of time. On Sunday the cross winds were lighter and we were able to bump the record in the M/G1650 class to 182.926mph. At the end of that run the bike stalled because we were low on fuel. After asking around "were the hell are the fuel guys", we were told that it was announced on Sat. they would not be there on Sunday. Luckily we had a 2.5 gallon gas can with some 93octane we purchased at the convenience store. Even thou this was road legal gas, it was not certified event gas and put us in the fuel classes with race gas and NOS racers. With enough time left in the day for 2 runs we set out to break some records. We broke the M/F1650 record with a speed of 181.998mph and for the last run of the day and season, we set a new M/F3000 record at 187.813mph. What a way to end the season! The '07 season starts in the spring and we are going to make some more changes. The biggest change will be, installing the Fuel Injection system on the bike. Our goal is 195MPH.
